Data Deletion Instructions

You can delete your Shukshuk account and all your personal data at any time. This page gives you step-by-step instructions. For details on what data we collect and why, see the Privacy Policy.

1. Self-service deletion (recommended)

1. Sign in at shukshuk.co.il
2. Open your profile: shukshuk.co.il/en/profile
3. Scroll to the bottom and click "Delete account"
4. Confirm — we'll ask you to type your email address as a final check
5. Deletion is immediate

2. What gets deleted

• Your account profile (name, email, photo, bio, city)
• Every listing you posted and all images attached to them
• Conversations with other users and your messages
• Your full AI chat history with Shukshuk (including drafts in progress)
• Sign-in tokens (NextAuth) and your Google OAuth grant on our side
• Saved listings, reviews you wrote, vouches you gave or received
• Comments you posted under other people's listings

3. What may be retained temporarily

After deletion, a few items may persist briefly for the reasons below:

• Database backups — overwritten within 30 days as backup rotations cycle through
• Server logs — kept up to 90 days for security and incident investigation, then deleted automatically
• Data we are legally required to retain — for example, if a consumer-protection or anti-fraud complaint was filed against you, we keep the minimum necessary to address it

4. Removing specific content only

You don't have to nuke the whole account — you can remove a single listing or thread:

• Listings: open the listing → "Delete" or "Make private" from the listing detail page
• Messages: in the inbox, select the conversation and choose "Delete conversation"
• AI chats: in the chat sidebar, click the trash icon next to a conversation

5. If self-service deletion does not work

If something prevents you from deleting yourself — for instance, you lost access to the email tied to your account — email us:

Include the email address linked to the account or your username. We commit to processing manual deletion requests within 14 days of receipt.

6. Revoking Google sign-in

You can revoke the Google permission you granted to Shukshuk via myaccount.google.com/permissions. That blocks you from signing back in, but your data stays with us until you request deletion via the steps above.
